Final solutions

The so-called "Final Solution of the Jewish Question" ("Endlösung der Judenfrage") refers to the strategic plan to undertake systematic genocide against the European Jews during the second World War. The term was coined by Adolf Eichmann, the Nazi war criminal who was later caught, tried and executed by Israeli authorities. The expression reflected the Nazi belief that the Jewish European population (along with the Roma, the disabled, the infirm, people of alternate sexuality and assorted others who didn't fit into their plans to establish a 'pure' Aryan state) itself posed a' question' and a 'problem'.

"Our priorities in government would be to establish a proper process of decision-making" and push through "a strategic vision for the final solution of how Israel will look in 20 or 25 years' time ... It's not only an issue of territory and borders but of the character of the state - will it be a Zionist state, a Jewish state, or a state like others? I want it to be a Jewish state."says Avigdor Lieberman, the deeply racist, Russian speaking ultra-rightwing new deputy-prime minister elect of Israel, speaking to the Guardian.

Funny choice of words, that.

Scary choice of words. And it doesn't even seem like an accident. Are leaders just allowed to make statements without weighing their words? I don't think so.
Strange how the experience of discrimination and violence and your own horrors somehow softens, even legitimises what you are able to inflict on others.
Masses of guilt all around...which just helps you coast along with so many faces turned the other way.
A mess indeed. A sad sad one.

Back into the abyss..

Its shocking, the amount of horrors humans can be capable of. I've met young educated people and others from decent family backgrounds, who actually were proud of attrocities carried out on people of other faith in some distant part of the country! Their arguement: "those people deserved it because someone with the same religious beliefs is commiting attrocities on people of our faith in some other part of the world".

And they actually had the cheek to call themselves secular!

They called it justice and a show of power. How on earth is that either of the two? Justice and strength is in bringing to book the person who is actually committing the crime. But these people who do not have the gutts to touch the actual criminals, kill some innocent people in some other corner of the planet who followed the same religion as the criminals and call it justice done!

Nikita, funny though, how those really guilty (essentially European anti-semites, who sought to absolve their collective guilt by so casually giving away someone else's land) are now sanctimoniously taking sides and pointing fingers at the people who are stuck in the middle of the mess they created.

N, yeah, I know. The suggestible masses and all that.

Sac, that's the one thing I don't get. Don't these idiots get the irony? Or are we all idiots, generally, when it comes to these things?
